Hi, My name is Svitlana. I live in Kiev, Ukraine. When I am not teaching, I am busy with my great kids (my 3 y.o. son is sitting on  my laps just now, playing with a rubber stamp). I adore learning something new about teaching, reading books on self-development and psychology, designing educational computer games. I am very artistic, like to make some crafts, to draw, one of my hobbies is scrapbooking. Sometimes I like watching historical or Sci-Fi series and soap operas. I don’t use social networks much, but while in public transport I hang in Pinterest. I am great fan of Walt Disney, his story, cartoons, movies and songs.
I have extensive experience as a private teacher of English to the students from pre-K to the adults, but mainly with pupils (mainly gr. 1-4, 7-11). The structure of my lesson depends on the student’s needs. I usually use textbook as a basis and prepare for supportive hand-outs with translations, transcription, additional exercises where appropriate. I usually combine different textbooks focused on the different aspects of language (Vocabulary, Grammar). I pay great attention to pronunciation during the whole lesson.
I am passionate about sharing my love to English language with my students. I believe that any person can learn what he/she wants. One of my favorite sayings is “You can do everything, but you cannot do all”, meaning that being focused is one of the key elements to success. As I teacher I am very supportive, friendly and consistent. I know that good structure and methodical approach are necessary basis of teaching anything, although motivation makes wonders!
The structure of my lessons is usually Unit-based. I have over 500 of different textbooks which I combine depending on the student’s needs and level. My main focus is making my student feel the language, the culture and people who use it, to feel involved, confident to speak up and to enhance their knowledge every day. This is really easy!
